Most famous prayer song sung by the students in many educational institutions in India is given below.It has a great meaning which is given beside the Telugu words.classes are started after doing this prayer.this prayer gives relationship between the teacher and a student.

Before the class dispersed students say the following benediction -- May all the people be happy. may the rulers administrate the country in a just way. May the cows and cattle be protected so that they help the society. May all the world be Happy. May the country be free from troubles an disturbances.May the poor get all their needs and people live in peace

My Articulations............

It is not enough if teacher tells the student what they know, deliver sermons, covers the syllabus and coach the student for examinations. It is not enough if they instruct them. They should inspire them and motivate them. Inspiration should inspire their thoughts and motivation inspires their action. Both of them are important for a student. In addition they should power their minds and charge their batteries. And also youthful minds have youthful thoughts which give rise to a better student.

Robert frost wrote the following poem on teacher:

There are two kinds of teachers;

The kind that fills you

With so much shot that

You cannot move,

And the other kind

That just gives you a little prod

And you jump to the skies.

A teacher is a gardener of heart. He tends the garden of the students’ heart by watering and weeding. Good thoughts are encouraged and evil thoughts are weeded out. He fertilizes the garden with his knowledge and wisdom. He pulls away the weeds and stand in the way of students’ appreciation. Teachers are the farmers who sow seeds in fertile minds. They are harvesters who gather good. They wont sell the crop instead they distribute the crop.

Information alone is not education. It should be transformed into knowledge, information must be screened, filtered, and shifted by detached observation, experience, company of wise, and reading of good books. Wisdom is how we use knowledge. As Gandhiji said, what does not relate to life at every point is no education. Which meant that, A teacher should understand the whole feeling of his student and make his goal to a right way and teach him such a way that it helps in widening the path of the student to achieve the goal. As a great poet sir Arthur ward said:

The mediocre teacher tells.

The good teacher explains.

The superior teacher demonstrates.

The great teacher inspires.

A good teacher is the facilitator, the guiding fellow student and path finder. A good teacher gives life to the text book. The text is a pre-text to an innovative teacher. It is not an end in itself but a means to transform the whole life of the student.

To speak truth, it is school teachers but not vice-chancellors, professors, lecturers and principals, who build the personalities and mould the character of the children, when they are saplings but not trees!! It is they that lay the foundations. But, they are like the unknown solders whose silent works has no high visibility. Henry van duke in his poem says that:

He lives in obscurity

And faces hardship.

For him no trumpets blare

No golden decorations are decreed

He lights many candles

Which in later years

Will shine back to cheer him;

This is his reward.

As the species of good teachers have become obsolete but not yet extinct. Like wild life specimens their numbers are reduced. In the case of wild life, we have parks, zoos etc., to protect them. Are there any such agencies for teachers? It is not too late. The grace period is still here. As David M burns said “Aim for success, not perfection. Never give up your right to be wrong, because then you’ll loose the ability to learn new things and move forward with your life. Remember that Fear always lurks behind perfectionism.’’

The person who can’t ultimately decide his future always thinks that (or) the present educational system is in such a way that the people started thinking that “Education is an organized system through which we waste half of our life to learn how to waste the remaining half of our life!!”

In those days there was Guru-sishya parampara (teacher student cycle of relationship). Students were proud to announce in public that they were pupils of such teacher. Their teachings include:

“Speak the truth. Practice the dharma. Do work for lokasangraha. Worship your mother, father,teacher and guest. Do such acts as are above reproach and approved by good men. This is the commandment. This is the advice. This is the hidden import of Vedas. This is the message.”

In many educational intuitions they pray the god at the start of the day. This enriches the relationship between the student and teacher. Many include the prayer of:

Asatoma sargamaya (Lead us from untruth to truth)

Tamasoma jyothirgamaya (lead us from darkness to light)

Mrityorma amruthangamaya (lead us from death to immortality)

The relation between a successful teacher and a successful student according to me is: “Every teacher is a student ;and every student is a teacher

EDUCATION

It is surprising to know that ancient educational aspects are still valid and relevant to the modern times. The main purpose of education was total integrated development of human personality. In other words the flowering of personality towards excellence depends upon the development of body, mind, intellect, heart and soul. This is in perfect accord with modern philosophy of education. The only thing missing in present day education is attention towards heart and soul. This means lack of concentration. That makes the reason of more growth of corruption and violence today.

Well now let's see some answers given by famous people for the question: "What is intellect?"

Swami Vivekananda said: "There is nothing in intellect it goes few steps and stops. Heart is everything it goes deep and opens the most impossible gates."

Ravindranath tagore also said the same thing: "if intellect alone were sufficient Bacon would have been honest and Napoleon just."

Gandhiji too said : " I m not intellectually smart but I know my limitations. But I don't mind because there is a limit to the development of the intellect but not that of heart."

Jiddu Krishna murthy said: Intellect is only a "reason" or "logic". Intelligence is greater because it gives direction to information and knowledge.

Intellect is like a lawyer who can argue on both sides. Tilting and tricking the scales of balance.

Many of the students think about impossible works. They be afraid of those works ,but those may not be so hard as you feel. We need to unmask the word .we need to label these impossibilities correctly. They may be most honestly called:

· Prejudices!

· Challenges!

· Problems to be solved!

· Blind spots!

· Fatigue!

· Ignorance!

· Fear !

· Excuses!

· Ego problems!

· Laziness!

Call these "impossibilities" with right name: Fears that are taking over leadership in our thought process. They are the stubborn mental fences built by ignorance, apathy or intolerance. Strip the mask from those "it's impossible's" and what do u find? A partial perception which produces illusion, which in turn produces confusion

So let's expose those impossibilities for what they really are. We need to check, re-check, and double check our impossibilities before we go into them

To remove impossibilities in life only we are prescribing the education. To educate ourselves we need a teacher that teacher also should have some qualifications. That qualification depends upon the quality and character of that person though there is preference for their educational qualifications. So these characteristics of teacher were quoted in ancient Hindu Vedas as—"Desiko navalakshna" which means "teacher needs nine characteristics to teach" they are:

1. Suchir—external and internal cleanliness

2. Vachasvi—articulation or effective expression

3. Varchaswi—bright and charming personality

4. Dhritiman—courage, physical and moral

5. Smrutimaan—good memory

6. Kriti—ability to write well

7. Namratah—humility & politeness

8. Utsahi—enthusiasm or high motivation

9. Jijnasu—a sprit of research or desire to learn more and more

Doesn't this checklist tally with the modern prescription?

Along with these ancient educationalists also told that: Teacher needs anubhuti and darsana which means experience coupled with concentration and vision.

These may be taken from the phrases of Vedas but these can be considered as universal truths.

Information is necessary in education. But information alone doesn't make education. As swami Vivekananda said : if information alone makes education then encyclopedias are our gurus and our libraries are our rishis. Information must be controlled by character and controlled by wisdom.

Even an student also have an vision about their teacher. According to the latest survey conducted it is said that A student wants his\her teacher containing these qualities:

· Enthusiasm

· Preparation

· Punctuality

· Support and concern for students

· Consistency

· Politeness

· Firmness and control

· Provides personal help

· Does not make students to lose face

· Have high expectations on class members

· Is fair

· Is humble

· Has sense of humor

· Interpersonal relationship skills with students

· Keeps accurate records of students

These qualities are recommended to a teacher by students. But teacher also wants his student in a particular way like:

· Discipline

· Punctual

· Well mannered

· Enthusiastic to know

· Well respected

· Do's his work properly

These qualities are needed in a student to acquire a teacher with above qualities.

DO YOU KNOW? Education is a magic. It is the right way to develop wisdom. In 1912's, Americans had:

No income tax…………. No federal reserve.

No investment counselors………….. No mutual funds.

No vitamin tablets…………No refrigerators……No radios.

No transcontinental telephones……………No traffic lights.

No plastics…………. No man made fibers ………. No florescent lights also.

Much later after 1929 boom Americans still had:

No social security………. No unemployment insurance…….. No airmail.

No air lines…………… no Xerox……….no air conditioners.

No antibiotics………no frozen foods……… no televisions.

No transistors ……………. No lasers ………. And no nuclear energy

Who could have imagined back then the Variety of new blessings in my lifetime, and who can imagine now the even new greater blessings in the store for our children and grand children?

It must be remembered that the purpose of education is not to fill the minds of students with facts…… it is to teach them to think, if that is possible then always to think for themselves. Aim for success not for perfection . never give up your right to be wrong, because then you will loose the ability to learn new things and move forword with your life. Remember that fear always lurks behind perfectionism.

Harvesting of the cacao beans occurs in the tropical countries of South America with low sanitation levels. Cacao tree beans are cut and piled in the farmer's field where they ferment for 6 days. During this process, children and adults walk over the piles; insects, rodents, small animals and other living things that make their nests in the piles. Actually the The U. S. Department of Health publishes a book entitled "The Food Defect Action Levels" in which they list unavoidable defects in food (insect, rodents etc.) all allowed by FDA.
